In 2014, the Property Management Organization at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) launched an effort to convert 850,000 historic documents from various forms of media (hard copy, microfiche reels, etc.) to electronic format. This huge effort is summarized during the webinar, focusing on step-by-step actions; the cost/benefit analysis; lessons learned; tips for success or avoiding failure; and long-term benefits. Cheri Cross, Property Manager at ORNL, managed this project – but not without a lot of help from management, staff and subcontract partners. Tune-in as Cheri shares her story, good and bad, and how going electronic can be your next successful venture.
Webinar Objectives:
• Provide background of completed conversion effort
• List possible benefits for electronic files
• List possible issues for electronic files
• Share a cost analysis to use for justification/approval
• Provide step-by-step guide and options for converting files
