Certification renewal


The highest achieved credential (CPPS, CPPA or CPPM) is valid for five (5) years.


Certificants must maintain their competence through continued education, professional property management from the time of the initial or previous recertification.

The certification renewal application with supporting documentation must be submitted within 30 days of the certification expiration date. Your certificate's expiration date can be found on the certificate you received from NPMA. It can also be found on your Profile Home. If you cannot locate your certificate, please email

After completing application, submit online by attaching here.


Grace Period:

  • Certificants are given no more than 120 days past the expiration date to submit their Renewal Application
  • Renewal applications submitted during the 120 day grace period will be assessed a late fee of $100
  • If Certificants miss the 120 day grace period or do not meet the recertification requirements, they must retake the exams. Exams can be purchased here.
