NPMA Code of conduct for attendees
Purpose
This Code of Conduct outlines expected behavior for all participants attending an NPMA course and/or the National Education Seminar. It aims to foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where all individuals feel welcome, respected, and able to fully participate.
1. Respectful Behavior
All participants are expected to:
- Treat all attendees, instructors, and staff with respect and courtesy.
- Engage in constructive and respectful communication, regardless of differences in opinions.
- Respect the personal space and boundaries of others.
2. Professionalism
Participants should:
- Behave in a manner consistent with a professional learning environment.
- Refrain from disruptive behavior that may interfere with the learning process or the participation of others.
- Use appropriate language during discussions and in written communication.
3. Inclusive Environment
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive space. As such:
- Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion of any kind based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other personal attribute will not be tolerated.
- Be mindful of others’ perspectives and experiences and strive to promote a collaborative learning atmosphere.
4. Confidentiality
- Respect the confidentiality of all course discussions, especially when sensitive information is shared.
- Do not share or record any course material, participant information, or discussions without prior permission from NPMA, the course facilitators and participants involved.
5. Intellectual Property
- Honor copyright and intellectual property laws. Do not distribute or reproduce any course materials without proper authorization.
6. Appropriate Use of Technology
- Use technology, including mobile phones, laptops, and online platforms, in a manner that supports the learning process.
- Mute devices during sessions unless otherwise instructed by the instructor.
- Avoid using social media or other platforms to share course content without explicit permission.
7. Consequences of Misconduct
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- A verbal or written warning.
- Removal from the course, without refund, in severe cases of misconduct.
- Reporting to relevant authorities or organizations if applicable.
8. Reporting and Accountability
If you observe or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to education@npma.org immediately. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and investigated promptly.
