Course Description

Disposal of property and materials is a significant issue with all companies and government agencies. No one wants to dedicate resources to dispose of property that is no longer needed by the organization. Additionally, in recent years, laws and regulations governing the disposition of property and materials have increased and changed significantly. Therefore, property disposal personnel must be extremely efficient in their efforts to excess unneeded property and materials - both to reduce costs and to comply with laws and regulations. This class covers all aspects of property disposal, including regulations and methods to use for donations, excessing and disposal.

Cancellations
In the event that you need to cancel your registration, cancellations must be received in writing 45 days prior to the first day of course and no refunds less than 45 days before start date of class. A refund, equivalent to the member tuition rate less $75 processing fee, will be granted through this date; no refunds or course transfers will be granted for cancellations after this date.
About the Instructor: Cheri Cross, CPPM, CF
Cheri is the Property Manager at Oak Ridge National Laboratory which is operated by UT-Battelle, LLC for the Department of Energy. She is a Certified Professional Property Manager and an NPMA Consulting Fellow. In her 41 years of service at ORNL, 29 have been devoted to the improvement of Property Management. Cheri served as a U.S. Delegate during the initial development of the ISO Asset Management Standard. Her NPMA accomplishments include the Jack Griffiths Property Person of the Year Award, Eastern Region Property Person of the Year Award, and multiple literary awards. She is currently serving as the Assistant Administrator for the NPMA Foundation, is a Past President of NPMA and served on the Executive Board for 16 years (2000-2016). Cheri has a B. S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, graduating Summa Cum Laude as the “Top Graduate” from the College of Business.
