Course Level: All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend! Property has two components, real property, the building and infrastructure, and personal property, the furniture, fixtures, and equipment. We do a good job managing the real property, but literally half of that Property investment goes undermanaged. This course will help any organization get the most value from their personal property investments by aligning individual departmental objectives with the organizations overall objective by: - Getting buy-in/support from senior leadership
- Breaking-down department silos
- Identifying and collaborating with stakeholders
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with personal property

About the Instructor Arthur Kurland is a United States Air Force veteran and a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and a graduate of American InterContinental University with a master’s degree in accounting and Finance. Mr. Kurland has worked in finance for private, not-for-profit, and fortune 50 companies in a variety of industries from retail to utilities for 30 years. Mr. Kurland serves on the Certification Governing Board and Legislative Affairs Committee for the National Property Managers Association and is a Senior Fellow for the Asset Leadership Network. He has published articles about asset management and presented learning sessions about asset management at national conferences and online webinars. Mr. Kurland is a Certified Information Technology Asset Manager and a Certified Personal Property Administrator. He is currently the Director of Capital and Asset Management at University Health, a locally owned and operated health system in San Antonio, TX. University Health includes primary, specialty and urgent care centers, mobile health units, and an academic hospital with over 1,000 licensed beds that has earned its place among the top in the nation and recognized as the most preferred hospital in San Antonio (NRC Health Market Insights 2021). Mr. Kurland led the effort for University Health to become the world's first ANAB Accredited ISO 55001 hospital.
