Writing an article for The Property Professional?
The following style sheet provides a helpful guide to use when submitting your article.
Title
The article title area should appear as:
Title
Subtitle
Author, Cert. level (if any), Chapter
Body
- The body of text should be at least 500 words; exceptions may be approved upon review. We do not want to impose a rule as to maximum length, however extremely long manuscripts may be run as two parts in consecutive issues or recommended for the Journal.
- Times New Roman/12 is the preferred typeface for the body of your manuscript and Arial, for figure labels.
Headers
- Should be bold and can be centered over the text or at the left-hand margin.
- Use single spacing throughout the entire manuscript with paragraphs indented five (5) spaces, single spacing after periods, and double space before and after Headers at the author’s discretion. Align the text to the left-hand margin, leaving a “ragged” right-hand margin.
Artwork, Logos and Photos
- If you include a logo or artwork, please submit a vector art (adobe illustrator .ai or .eps format). Clip art should not be provided. Logos can also be submitted as .svg files.
- If you are submitting photo(s), please ensure they are approved for usage and do not violate any copyrights. As a rule of thumb, please submit your photos as:
- RGB color space
- At least 300 ppi (pixels per inch) or highest resolution possible
- JPEG, TIF or PNG file format
Endnotes
- Cite references in the body of text as endnotes…not footnotes. We recommend the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual for guidance with structuring your references if needed. The APA manual also provides help in writing with simplicity and power. They offer free on-line help as well.
Bio
- Always submit a brief bio (limit to 200 words) at the end of your article.
