Course Description

 

Have you ever received the following email at work, “Hey, we have a new contract with property requirements, please help!” or “Can you review this RFP/Contract for property concerns”?.....and it left a pit in your stomach because you had no idea where to go next?   Well, this is the class for you!

 

Some of the takeaways from this class will guide you in understanding how to:

  1. Properly review all sections of an RFP/Contract
  2. Know the basic terms and language to look for any possible property requirements
  3. Understand the different types of reports or deliverables in a contract
  4. Identify Key Stakeholders in the Organization
  5. Challenges faced by the Property Organization

This session will walk students through the complete process of how to navigate and review property requirements that would be included or become buried within the Contract Award Document Sections, Contractual Terms and Conditions, Statement of Work, Other Attachments and Listings, and CDRL items. There will also be discussions on Regulatory Clauses, and other references related to property management.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • How to review a contract
  • How and Where to find property management related information in the terms of the contract
  • Understanding key FAR, DFARS, and other agency or regulatory clauses

 

There will also be a case study where the class will work in teams to collaborate and offer their recommendations and suggestions on a property related scenario.

 

Come with your property thinking caps on and let’s add some of the contractual knowledge that will help answer those emails!

 

Payment must be received 35 days prior to the course. Registrants with pending payments 35 days prior to the first day of the course must guarantee payment or will be dropped from enrollment.

Cancellations

In the event that you need to cancel your registration, cancellations must be received in writing 45 days prior to the first day of course and no refunds less than 45 days before start date of class. A refund, equivalent to the member tuition rate less $75 processing fee, will be granted through this date; no refunds or course transfers will be granted for cancellations after this date.

 

About the Instructor

Judy Hively, CPPM, CF, Government Property Manager, BAE Systems, Electronic Systems.

 

Judy has more than 20 years in Property Management with U.S. Defense Industry working for Government Contractors such as BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, General Atomics, KBR/Honeywell, and Rockwell Collins.  Judy has a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Contract Administration from the University of Maryland University College.  She has been a member of NPMA for over 15 years and has served as Chapter President, National Delegate, Treasurer, and Proctor and is currently the Eastern Region Treasurer.  Judy is leading the current review and rewrite of CPPS Manual and is excited to begin teaching fellow NPMA members as a new instructor as of 2022.
