Government Property Basics
When it comes to managing assets, understanding the complexities of government regulations is a vital first step. This five-day course presents a detailed analysis of life cycle asset management in government property systems. In addition to the fundamentals of property management and the regulatory requirements of property management; this course includes an overview of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other appropriate regulations used in federal government procurement of supplies and services. This course is essential if you work in property management, supply-chain, logistics, quality assurance, contract management, procurement, subcontract administration, program management or internal auditing.

- History and public laws of property management
- Regulations Review: Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Federal Management Regulations (FMR), Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Circulars
- Physical inventories and records
- Contract closures and dispositions
- Roles of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
- Reporting requirements

This Class Awards 40 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)

Cancellations In the event that you need to cancel your registration, cancellations must be received in writing 45 days prior to the first day of course and no refunds less than 45 days before start date of class. A refund, equivalent to the member tuition rate less $75 processing fee, will be granted through this date; no refunds or course transfers will be granted for cancellations after this date.

Loril Stephens, CPPM CF, Senior Manager, Government Compliance, Global Asset Management Office for KBR Readiness and Sustainment Solutions. Ms. Stephens has held staff and management positions at aerospace government and commercial manufacturing organizations, with strong research & development programs, as well as higher education and state and local government throughout her career in Property Management. Her credentials include a Business Administration degree with an Emphasis in Property Management, National Property Management Association (NPMA) Certified Professional Property Manager (CPPM) advanced certification, and recognition as a Consulting Fellow (CF). She is an experienced instructor having delivered training and education at many levels to novices as well as seasoned professionals. Ms. Stephens is an NPMA Instructor of property management courses and is a workshop presenter throughout the U.S. She is passionately focused on mentoring and providing professional development guidance to individuals in property management and related fields. In addition to mentoring within the NPMA and NDIA community, she is actively involved in mentoring within the KBR Global Asset Management (GAM) Program. Ms. Stephens is a long-time active member of the National Property Management Association, and has held numerous positions at Chapter, Regional, and National levels. Ms. Stephens is currently serving on the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) Government Property System Committee. She is a recipient of the NPMA National Carl Iannacone Tribute Award and the Western Region Property Person of the Year Award among other awards during her career in recognition of her dedication and contributions to the organizations of NPMA and NDIA, developing and mentoring the Property Management profession within companies where she has been employed for ensuring a strong team of professionals can lead compliance and mentor other professionals.
