CPPA CERTIFICATION REVIEW This class awards 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) The cost of the exam is NOT included in the course registration. Please see testing instructions below. Those wishing to take the certification exam should study the materials prior to class. The course is designed to review the materials before taking the exam. Testing is, however, optional, and scheduled through our proctoring service, Kryterion. The course is taught by an NPMA instructor who is CPPM-certified. Due to accreditation regulations, the instructor has not seen, and does not have access to, the actual exam. Course Payment Policy Registrants with pending payments 45 days prior to the first day of the course must guarantee payment or will be dropped from enrollment. Course Cancellation Policy Please note: A minimum number of registrants is required to hold this course. If you are planning to attend, please make sure to register at least 45 days prior to the start of the course. Individual cancellations must be received 45 days prior to the start date of the course. Please read below. - Beginning in January 2021, you must complete the CPPA Application Form prior to receiving an exam voucher code. (Note: You will need to log in to your NPMA profile at www.npma.org prior to completing the form.)
- As of January 2020, NPMA no longer uses the services of volunteer or instructor proctors.
- Exams will not be administered during the class.
- You do not have to take the exam immediately following the class.
- Instead, NPMA will use the services of an independent proctoring company Kryterion. NPMA exams will be administered through Kryterion’s system Webassessor.
- You will have to make an appointment with Kryterion to schedule a testing time.
- You can either take your exam online or at one of Kryterion’s testing centers. Both methods require an appointment.
- If you would like to take your exam online after the class is complete, please make your testing appointment at least 30 minutes after the scheduled end time of the last day of class.
- You will have to use your own laptop if you choose to take your exam online. Learn more about requirements for laptop/webcam/internet speed/firewalls here.
- Any laptop used for online testing must have a webcam and the ability to download security software.
- If you are taking the exam at the course venue after the close of the class, you will be responsible for providing your own internet access either through your hotel room’s hardwired internet or by using your Smartphone as a WiFi hotspot.
- NPMA will not provide internet access for testing.
- Per Kryterion's Cancellation/Reschedule Policy, there will be a fee charged to you if you cancel/reschedule with 24 hours (online testing) or 72 hours (onsite center testing) of your exam start time.
COURSE MATERIALS Intermediate Studies Manual and Study Guide (included with registration fees) Once you have paid for your registration, your confirmation including a link to the study materials will open in your browser. Please print your study guide and bring with you to the class if you wish. You will also receive an email confirmation containing links to your study materials. If you have asked someone else to register you for this class, please ensure they provide YOUR email address on the registration and not their own. Hard copy manuals are shipped to the course site. COURSE DESCRIPTION This course takes the property professional from the beginning life-cycle stages of property operations into the broader value-added world of organizational partnering and strategic property management concepts. Attendees will experience an in-depth examination of property management topics ranging from voluntary consensus standards, requirements determinations, contracting and assistance, risk, consumables, and fleet management to value-added solutions and environmental considerations. If you have at least one year of property management experience, this course provides the tools to succeed as a professional property manager. Topic Overview: - Capital planning process.

Questions? Contact education@npma.org INSTRUCTOR BIO Frank Borrelli, CPPM Frank has been employed at California State University Stanislaus for over 34 years. After various promotions through the years, he currently is Director of Support Services which encompasses Property Control, Shipping and Receiving, Surplus Property, Records Management, Mail Services and the Print Shop. He has over 36 years’ experience in logistics, material handling and asset management. During his career, he worked for E&J Gallo Winery and attended Modesto Jr. College and CSU Stanislaus studying Business Production and Operations Management. Frank has been a member of NPMA since 1993 and received his CPPM Certification with the National Property Management Association in 2007. Frank received the “Andrew C. Anderson Lifetime Achievement Award” for recognition of Lifelong Commitment, Dedication and Contributions to NPMA and is an Instructor for the organization. He also is serving as the Director of Certification and Job Awareness for the Western Region of NPMA, He has also served as a proctor and has held various positions at the Chapter Level. He received the University “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2009 and received the “Presidents Commendation Metal” in 2012 for excellence in the workplace. Before moving to Management, he served as volunteer CSUEU Union President at the University for 17 years focused on solving workplace problems. In his spare time, Frank enjoys spending time with his wife Rosemary of 35 years and his son Dominic, who is a History/Social Sciences Teacher preparing at risk students from grades 6-12 for college. An avid Oakland A’s and Dallas Cowboys fan, Frank is active in his local church where he leads the Knights of Columbus Council focused on helping people in his community. He is volunteer Student Advisor for Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority at CSU Stanislaus and was recently elected to serve on the Corporate School Board at Central Catholic High School where he attended many moons ago.
