After 40 years of experience and networking with Property Professionals, the “100 Worst Mistakes to Make in Property Management” have been compiled. Cheri Cross tells it all, leaving no story untold despite the embarrassment. During this informative three-day course, you will learn what common mistakes are made, the possible consequences of repeating them, and tips for avoiding these blunders all together. Every phase of the property life cycle will be examined, including best practices and guiding principles.

“100 Worst Mistakes to Make in Property Management” is a great refresher course for seasoned professionals who can draw on the mistakes of others. For new professionals, the course will provide the framework and examples to ensure common mistakes can be avoided. Every attendee will receive a copy of the material covered for future reference. This course is for every Property professional and is one you and your company can’t afford to miss!


Course Level: All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend!


Learning Objectives
  • Students will learn, from experienced Property professionals, common mistakes that are made in Property Management

  • Students will gain an understanding of the consequences from repeating these mistakes

  • Students will benefit from reference material from the course and multi-media examples presented (videos, news clips, newspaper articles, suggested forms, etc.)

  • Students will be provided with alternatives in achieving desired results from their Property Management System

  • Students will participate in interactive discussions regarding optimal processes and requirements for tracking both corporate and government-owned property

  • Students will be provided with networking opportunities for future questions and bench marking needs.

 

This Class Awards 24 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) 

 

Payment must be received 35 days prior to the course. Registrants with pending payments 35 days prior to the first day of the course must guarantee payment or will be dropped from enrollment.

Cancellations

In the event that you need to cancel your registration, cancellations must be received in writing 45 days prior to the first day of course and no refunds less than 45 days before start date of class. A refund, equivalent to the member tuition rate less $75 processing fee, will be granted through this date; no refunds or course transfers will be granted for cancellations after this date.

 


About the Instructor

Cheri is the Property Manager at Oak Ridge National Laboratory which is operated by UT-Battelle, LLC for the Department of Energy. She is a Certified Professional Property Manager and an NPMA Consulting Fellow. In her 41 years of service at ORNL, 29 have been devoted to the improvement of Property Management. Cheri served as a U.S. Delegate during the initial development of the ISO Asset Management Standard. Her NPMA accomplishments include the Jack Griffiths Property Person of the Year Award, Eastern Region Property Person of the Year Award, and multiple literary awards. She is currently serving as the Assistant Administrator for the NPMA Foundation, is a Past President of NPMA and served on the Executive Board for 16 years (2000-2016). Cheri has a B. S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, graduating Summa Cum Laude as the “Top Graduate” from the College of Business.
