Congratulations to Ms. Christina Truesdale, CPPM CF, the 2020 Jack E. Griffiths Property Person of the Year Award recipient!

The Jack E. Griffiths Property Person of the Year Award is the most prestigious and highest award given by NPMA. The award recognizes an active member who has contributed time and support in an outstanding manner to NPMA at the Chapter, Regional and/or National levels and who has also made significant contributions to the field of property management.

Ms. Truesdale has been an active member of NPMA since 2009, has earned a CPPM certification and is a Consulting Fellow. She has held various leadership positions including Chapter Program Chairperson, Chapter President, Regional Seminar Chairperson, and Regional Director of Membership. Ms. Truesdale actively participates, assists and organizes Chapter meetings and workshops as well as presents as a speaker at Regional and National education seminars. Ms. Truesdale has been instrumental in retaining and increasing NPMA membership at all levels by sponsoring new members, editing their Chapter Newsletter, utilizing an outstanding public relations campaign, contributing to the development of a Special Membership Program and representing NPMA as an exhibitor at the Army Ten Miler event.

It is with great sadness our long time NPMA Member, Bob Holcombe has lost his life, due to brain cancer. Bob fought the good fight and staying with his mission of enjoying family and seeking Asset Management improvements.

Bob Holcombe was a member of the Federal Center Chapter and 2019 Andrew C. Anderson Lifetime Achievement award recipient! Bob was a frequent presenter at NES, chapter meetings, regional seminars, and at various federal agencies and actively promotes personal property management in the federal community including the development of studies to develop future leaders in professional property management. Bob helped revise the NPMA Certification program and contributed to the development of a new “Intermediate Studies Manual” and specialty manuals for use by our members. He also served as a proctor for NPMA certification testing, and reviews CPPA and CPPM tests to ensure proper grading is assigned. Bob has been an outstanding member of the National Property Management Association (NPMA) since 1996. He also served on the NPMA Advisory Board, has been a Delegate, and was a Certified Professional Property Manager and Consulting Fellow.

In addition, Bob actively contributes to the development of property management standards by the E53 Committee promulgated and issued by ASTM International, was the author of the warehousing standard and the fleet management standard, was also a member of the US Technical Advisory Group (US TAG) representing the US in the development of ISO 55000. Bob has mentored Asset Managers at GSA, DOJ, NASA and other agencies, has encouraged certification training for all personal property management personnel, and assists young Property Management Professionals in their career development.

Even though Bob is no longer with us, his work and legacy in asset management will continue. Please keep Bob's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Burial: 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 22 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172, with Military Honors.

Reception following the Burial: Following the Burial at New Life Community Church, 1449 Courthouse, Stafford, VA 22554.

Each day will begin with opening remarks, followed by three, hour-long sessions and 20 minute intermissions. Sessions will be a mix of individual contributors and panel discussion, with plenty of opportunity for questions and audience participation. Panel Discussions will focus on inventory practices, self-assessment, facilities and property as well as managing a remote workforce.
