Lockheed Martin Recognizes Asset Management

Like the National Property Management Association (NPMA), Lockheed Martin Corporation’s Asset Management teams are also highlighting Asset Management Awareness Month during March at some of its facilities.

Teams are doing this in various ways, but the major event held at most sites is a special Lockheed Martin Asset Management Day. As part of the activities, Asset Management teams meet and greet employees during lunch and share various Lockheed Martin property management handouts, including a special brochure designed specifically for that day with a different focus each year.

The brochure focuses on a common theme for both Government-owned and Company-owned property and may be created along with an article posted on the company’s internal website.

The purpose of these activities is to introduce the Asset Management team to employees at their sites and to answer any questions they may have about asset management.

The event is part of a continuing Lockheed Martin campaign to emphasize that asset management is more than simply a record-keeping function. Asset Management Day helps employees understand that the company makes significant investments in fixed assets and maintains customer assets in support our overall mission. Most importantly, it familiarizes employees with the asset management requirements.

These events have been held in March by various Lockheed Martin sites since 2013. March was selected for Asset Management Awareness Month because it is close to the anniversary date for the NPMA.

The NPMA Foundation is pleased to announce that a limited number of grants remain to support attendance at the 2017 National Education Seminar in Phoenix, AZ. We are accepting grant applications completed on the Foundation web page. NPMA members who qualify are eligible to apply for the grants. The eligibility rules to apply for grants are available on our website. The window for submitting an application will close June 1, 2017. 

Are you getting ready for NES? We have lots of activities in the works. In addition to the Foundation Breakfast, we will be actively participating in the Property Challenge by selling t-shirts for each region. Stay tuned for more information on how you can order yours.
