NPMA Newsflash
Vol. 2016, Issue 36 October 5, 2016
Advance the profession of Asset Management through leadership in education, standards, compliance, and certifications.

James Prusaczyk, CPPM, CF-
2016 Andy Anderson Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

What does this award mean to you?

I had the privilege to have Andy as a friend of mine. Being honored by the organization with an award that bears his name is extremely humbling and one that I will cherish for a lifetime.

What drives you to commit your time to NPMA?

It has always been my philosophy that if you were going to do something or be involved in something you need to fully commit. I have tried to live up to that standard in Asset Management and mentor those less seasoned in the profession and share best practices and historical significance to why decisions and how processes evolved. Understanding the past helps formulate the future.

What has NPMA done for your career?

NPMA has provided me with many network opportunities. I have developed long lasting friendships and a support network to be used as a sounding board for ideas and process improvements. Being among a group of people that share the same profession but with different points of view provides an environment for mutual learning and professional growth.

What advice for success would you give to someone new in asset management?

Get involved, soak in as much as you can. A mentor of mine once told me, There is so much knowledge you gain by hanging around those that have been there before.
