Council of Fellows Application Minor Revision

Recently NPMA issued a new policy regarding number of hours per CEU. That policy is depicted below:

New policy (Issued 1/21/2016 by Cathy Seltzer, VP Professional Development)

Previously, the NPMA CEU policy has been 1 CEU to 8 hours of instruction. As of 1 Jan 2016, the policy is 1 CEU to 1 hour of instruction. We will be converting CEUs for the previous 5 years so that people will have the correct amount credited to them moving forward. Any new NPMA educational events will have the correct number of CEUs automatically assigned.

Due to this change in policy, the Council of Fellows (CF) Application Committee is clarifying the Academic Training section 2.1 on the application. We are adopting the ‘Nothing has changed’ position keeping our CF criteria for this section the same, but clarifying that 8 CEUs (8 hours) equal 1 point. Applicants have the opportunity to acquire 10 points (80 hours) maximum for this 2.1 section.

If you hold a certification through the NPMA we need your help!

To ensure the highest quality Certification program and as a part of the accreditation process, a Job Task Analysis (JTA) Survey will be coming to you via email, for your important feedback. The purpose of the JTA is to identify and validate the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform tasks involved with the profession of Asset Management.

Why is your participation important? The feedback provided on this survey serves as a tool used to validate and keep our certification program current. This is why your participation is vital to us.

This process will also move us toward NPMA’s certification program receiving accreditation through NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agencies).

This project will be managed by Alpine Testing Solutions, Inc., a company with experts in the field of certification. Alpine will have psychometricians available to evaluate our Certification Program. Alpine will be sending out the Survey on or about April 11, 2016. Thank you in advance for your participation.
