The sub-committee sends the winners’ list to the Awards Committee for judging and selection of the National Chapter of the Year Winners.

The National Director of Awards will give the names of winning chapters to the National President, National Office, and Region Vice Presidents. National winners will be presented during a special presentation at the NES.
Section 3: Criteria
A. The Chapter's petition for the Chapter of the Year award shall be a narrative of the achievements of the Chapter between January and December of the prior year. The Award Committee will assign appropriate points for each of the criteria listed below and will base its selection on the resulting overall score. The point assignment will be based on a qualitative as well as a quantitative analysis of the Chapter's achievements. The maximum points allowed for each of the criteria are listed.
B. The Chapter should include appropriate documentation. The quality of the documentation, not the quantity, will be judged. Submittals will be judged on the professionalism and content. Animation features and elaborate slide backgrounds are discouraged and will not add points. It is not the responsibility of the National Awards Committee to substantiate any petitions. The committee has a right to disregard any claim not properly supported. Single examples of such items as meeting minutes or newsletters will be sufficient.
