Description:

Government property administration can be very complicated to understand. If you’re asking yourself, “How can I help my company change from the old FAR to the new FAR application,” this is the class for you! This course will cover the new FAR 52.245 requirements from a contractor’s perspective, and provide insight to the requirements from a work perspective. This four-day course presents a detailed map of the old Far to the new FAR and will help with application of the regulations utilizing examples of real case scenarios. This course is essential if you work in property management, procurement, shipping and receiving, contract management, warehousing, and disposal.

Beth’s work experience in property management covers more than 25 years. During her 33 year career with the Navy she worked as a Contracting Officer, Building Manager, Logistics and Supply Specialist, Fleet Manager, Disposal Specialist, Traffic Manager, Plant Clearance Officer and a Government Property Administrator. Since she retired, she has worked as a consultant for DoD and NASA contractors providing her expertise in solving problems, developing internal audit programs, working with DCMA and DCAA auditors, training employees, writing procedures and working on contract proposal teams. As an active NPMA member for more than 18 years, Beth has held several positions, including chapter president and national delegate. She also has been a presenter at several National Educational Seminars. In addition, Beth is an NPMA instructor for the certification review courses and has developed training courses. Beth is a Certified Professional Property Manager and an NPMA Consulting Fellow.

By Metro: Take Metro's Yellow or Blue Line to the Braddock Road Station. Canal Center provides free van service between the station and 66 Canal Center Plaza. The van service is by "Chariots for Hire" and typically has a banner for "Canal Center". Vans run every 15 minutes during rush hours and every 30 minutes midday. They pick up passengers from the taxi/shuttle van kiosk in the Kiss-n-Ride area of the station parking lot.
